Finally a new travel post. I have been very poor on my travel game the the last few months with making the big move to Cali but I have some exciting trips coming up in the next few months so I’ll be back at it.
I went to Lake Tahoe for the weekend at the beginning of the month. It’s just a four hour drive from San Francisco so it has been on my to do list for a while. It did not disappoint! This place is TO DIE!
There is loads of activities to do in Tahoe including stand up paddle boarding but I wanted a complete R&R weekend. I choose to stay in the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa right on the lake after much mulling over different accommodation options. There is so many gorgeous cabins and hotels available it is easy to find somewhere to cater for the stay your looking for.
The Hyatt was everything I needed. Champagne on check in, champagne on entering the spa , champagne on leaving the spa and champagne while chilling in the outdoor pool! BLISS.
The heated outdoor jacuzzi surrounded by gorgeous snow covered mountains was perfection. That alone sold me on the hotel until we got to the beach.
I had a back, neck and shoulder massage which was really good. I had been suffering with neck spasms the couple of weeks before and I feel completely cured! The vibe of the spa was really chilled and relaxing and the staff were great. It was a little on the pricey side but thats Tahoe for you!
The room was perfect. Really spacious, had all the amenities you needed – (Coffee maker, hair drier , good quality toiletries , glasses, ice bucket , tv etc)
We used the room service for our meals and the food was good. Not amazing but good. I was expecting way more from the food so it was a bit of a let down.
My favourite part of the hotel had to be the private beach on the lake. It was so gorgeous and peaceful. The perfect place to enjoy a bottle (or two) of wine and a coffee in the morning.
In the evening there is live music and fire pits so its so nice to sit enjoy the sunset. Bare in mind I have not altered any of the pictures or put a filter on them. This is actually how gorgeous the lake was, and to be honest I don’t even think the pictures do it any justice.
We only stayed for two days so I will certainly be back again. If you are in Northern California this is a must!
On the drive back we went right around the lake and headed to Inspiration Point. This is so beautiful and worth a visit. It is high up in the mountains and looks over the whole lake. Ah-mazing views of Tahoe!
